Slovakia – Government Twinning Programme
From 2003-4, an EU-financed Government-to-Government twinning programme was carried out in Slovakia, bringing together the governments of the UK, France, Greece and Slovakia to work on key aspects of legal reform.
The Slovak government requested that CMI’s Bill Marsh be retained to continue advising on the introduction of mediation into the legal system, following his extensive previous involvement there.
Bill continued advising on legislation (which came into force in 2004), building expertise in mediation amongst key constituents. The work culminated with a major international conference in Bratislava in March 2004, with speakers from Slovakia, Slovenia, Greece, UK and France.
